Hommage à David Leaf DC DIBAK
David Rajkumar et le chapitre ICAK France saluent le départ d’une grande figure de l’AK et de la Chiropratique, disparu en début d’année.

IWhen i was in my 4th year of IFEC in 2007, friends from the clinic told me that the great DIBAK, David Leaf, was soon coming to France to teach his 100H course and that I absolutly had to sign in for it. Fortunatly for me, I did listen! He changed my life as a chiropractor and as a man. He was also the first to really help me improve my pain and health after many previous important accidents.
I met an extraordinary teacher with such an incredible knowledge. This very year, he insisted a lot about proper muscle testing. His precision and analysis were pure gold to my ears and eyes. We were more than 130 students so it was quite a struggle to be able to ask him some explanations. I litteraly bombarded him with questions so he quickly gave me the nickname of « Question man ».
Since the first day i met David, i was addicted to the AK reasoning and worked every day, as hard and rigourously as i could, to improve my skills and knowledge. After 8 intense seminars and a lot of daily learning and practice , David was back for another 100H course. After we prooved our mettle to his satisfaction, Florent Fournier and myself had the great privilege to be accepted as his assistants. Since then, we had the honor to assist him in his seminars at IFEC, teaching to hundreds of collegues each year for more than a decade.
Despite the reputation that David could have around the AK world of being surly, and even though there aren’t a lot of places where he didn’t massage me with his elbow, i discovered over the years a very sensitive man with also a great sense of humour and had the luck that this great mentor became my friend.
David was always trying to help and elevate people’s mind and heart. A genius of biomecanics who was frequently very serious and rigurous but was also able to joke about the way of walking of an elite athlete, asking him if he often wears miniskirt…
David had a particular bonding with IFEC and with France through his first wife Monique. He often told us that he loved the french chapter and that we were part of his family.
I remember the day in 2019 when he received from ICAK-France the certification of honour member and some of us hugged him, and he couldn t hold back some tears.
2 weeks or so before David passed away, i was with Timothy vom Scheidt (one of his fellow french students that became DIBAK) . We had been lecturing all day our first course based on David’s teachings, where he was supposed to be but couldn t, due to his health.
We had the chance to have him on the phone though. He was in a good mood, joking a bit and made us the honor to qualify us as a part of his legacy like he was a part of George’s. Then he thanked us, asked us to be good teachers and to slap bad muscle testers and ended the conversation with an « Au revoir ».
That’s the last words i shared with him and i think that resumes quite well who David Leaf was ! A big heart with a strong character who could be as hard as he could be gentle and kind.
A pillar of AK and chiropractic passed away but not the seeds that he planted !
All the love, knowledge and wisdom that he shared, will live with us and transcend the ages as we, his students, continue to share it to the next generations. You can rest peacefully David, the torch has been passed on !
I hope that you are smiling over the clouds, doing some nasty elbow massage with George and Wally.
Thank you for everything David ! It was a pleasure and an honour to have crossed your path.
Your dear student and friend, David AKA « Question man »
ICAK-France joins me to send all our deepest thoughts to David’s loved ones and particularly to his wife Anna
